A man was shot in the buttocks during a wellness check on his sibling in Canelands – KZN this morning (Sunday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to an informal area on New Glasgow Road at approximately 00:32. Upon arrival, they found a male with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.
The injured male explained that he was in Waterloo, KZN when he received a call from his brother in Canelands – KZN. His brother reported someone knocking on his door, fearing he might be robbed.
The man immediately left Waterloo – KZN with three other individuals in a silver BMW to conduct a wellness check on his brother. Upon arrival, the suspects opened fire on the car, forcing the four males to disembark and flee in different directions. The suspects fled empty-handed and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
The injured man was transported to hospital for medical attention.
