The OR Tambo Stock Theft Prevention Task Team based in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape has arrested two male suspects aged 20 and 23 of Blackhill locality in Qumbu on Wednesday, 01 October 2025 at about 17:00 for possession of suspected stolen livestock.
The team backed up by Qumbu Vispol members pounced on the suspects after receiving information regarding three suspected to be stolen cattle and goats kept at a certain homestead in Blackhill locality.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the three cattle were part of five cattle that were stolen at Sithaleni locality grazing camp and suspects further led police to Cokomfeni locality where they had stolen five goats and the lawful/rightful owner of the goats positively identified two of his stolen five goats as per Qumbu Cas Number of September 2025.
Investigation to recover remaining/outstanding two cows and three goats is ongoing. The arrested two male suspects are due to appear before Qumbu Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 02 October 2025 on charges of possession of suspected to be stolen stock.
