A Nurse has made contact with Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reporting that she is failing to get assistance from the South African Pharmacy Council and the Office Of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC). She has also approached the South African Police Services (SAPS) for assistance.
The following information was provided by the nurse (name withheld) who is residing in Umkomaas – KZN & working at a medical institution on the South Coast of Kwazulu Natal.
The woman informed Reaction Officers that her younger thirty (30) year old sister was recently fired from her job also as a nurse due to Morphine addiction. She later witnessed a lady who operates a private clinic in Amanzimtoti – KZN arrive at her home and deliver packages to her sister suffering with the addiction. After the family investigated, they found several bottles of Morphine (pictured) in her possession. Ten (10) other bottles were recovered on seperate occasions.
The family established that the bottles were unlawfully supplied to the addicted woman from the clinic (name withheld) in Amanzimtoti – KZN approx. 23.5 kilometers from their residence. The family further established that the clinic performed illegal abortions and was dispensing medication to persons with substance abuse disorder. They further learnt that the owner of the private clinic was recently fired from a pharmacy in Winkelspruit – KZN for Theft. The above information was provided during an interview.
The family is seeking assistance from any organisation that can investigate these allegations & stop the supply of Morphine to the addicted ex-nurse.
