A pensioner was assaulted during a home invasion on Tuesday afternoon in the Wynbury Circle area of Phoenix.
KZN VIP were alerted by concerned community members after they spotted a male suspect fleeing from the property carrying two bin bags believed to contain stolen items.
Upon arrival, medical assistance was immediately requested as the elderly female had sustained injuries during the assault. She was assessed on scene by medics.
Fortunately, she did not require immediate hospitalisation, however she was left severely traumatised following the incident.
Suspect was an African male who resembled a drug user, the suspect produced a knife in an attempt to stab the victim before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of valuables.
