Please be advised that several roads will be closed on Sunday the 17th of May 2026 due to the Suncoast East Coast Radio Big Walk.
The 10km walk starts at 07:00 and the 5km walk starts at 08:00.
ROAD CLOSURES:
● The M4 northbound and southbound ramps onto Athlone Drive are closed.
● Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Smiso Nkwanyana Road intersection is closed to southbound traffic.
● Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Isaiah Ntshangase Road intersection is closed.
● Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Battery Beach Road intersection is closed.
●Southbound access on Masabalala Yengwa Avenue is only possible via Somtseu Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
●Motorists travelling toward Durban CBD should use the M4 and exit at Argyle Road, then continue via Umgeni Road or KE Masinga Road.
● Drivers heading to the beachfront or Suncoast area are advised to use Somtseu Road.
● Southbound traffic toward the CBD should consider using Umgeni Road, Stamford Hill Road or KE Masinga Road.
● Motorists from Durban North may divert at Argyle Road to avoid affected areas.
Motorists are urged to exercise patience, follow instructions from law enforcement officers and allow for extra travelling time.
