A taxi strike in Mahikeng has reportedly brought traffic to a standstill after operators blocked all entry and exit points into the town early Monday morning.
According to reports, the disruption began at approximately 06h50, leaving commuters and motorists unable to enter or leave the area.
The Mahikeng Operations Command Centre (OCC) has confirmed that it is aware of the situation. Members of the South African Police Service and Public Order Police are currently on scene monitoring the incident and managing possible escalation.
Authorities have urged residents and commuters to remain cautious and avoid affected routes where possible. Motorists have also been warned to watch out for debris on roadways during the blockade.
The notice was issued by the Community Policing Forum, which says updates will be provided as the situation develops.
