A 34-year-old suspect was arrested in Wonderboompoort on Monday, 08 June 2026, for possession of suspected stolen property, contravention of the Immigration Act and bribery following the recovery of electronic devices valued at approximately R250 000.
While being arrested, the suspect allegedly offered police officers R10 000 in an attempt to avoid arrest. The money was confiscated, and an additional charge of bribery was added.Three of the recovered devices were positively identified by the victim as his property, while investigations continue to determine the ownership of the remaining items.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 09 June 2026.Police investigations are ongoing.
