An intoxicated motorist sustained head injuries after he was allegedly assaulted by the public in Oakford – KZN this morning (Sunday, 14/06/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Oakford Road at approximately 07:02. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers discovered a grey Suzuki Ertiga that had reversed down an embankment and come to rest in dense vegetation adjacent to the roadway. The driver suffered severe facial and head injuries, with blood visible on his clothing and at the scene.
It was alleged that the motorist had been driving recklessly while under the influence of alcohol. After the vehicle left the roadway, he was confronted and severely assaulted by the public.
The individuals responsible for the assault left prior to the arrival of First Responders.
