A 93-year-old grandmother and her 70-year-old daughter were robbed at knife point while inside their home in Dawncrest – Kwazulu Natal this afternoon (Thursday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was contacted for immediate assistance on Nightingale Circle at 13:32. Reaction Officers converged on the property and upon arrival interviewed the woman who explained that they were robbed by a lone suspect with a knife.
The suspect entered onto the upper level via a balcony and instructed the 93 year old to remain silent. The woman had heard noises prior to the incident but believed that a troop of monkeys were responsible for climbing onto the balcony.
A mobile phone was stolen and the women were uninjured. A female Reaction Officer (see images) was despatched to the scene to comfort the visibly traumatised victims.
