Hyundai Automotive South Africa has partnered with Teboho Mokoena, one of the country’s most talented football stars, in a collaboration celebrating excellence and progress.
The partnership sees the Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder take ownership of the all-new Hyundai SANTA FE Hybrid, a vehicle he personally selected from Hyundai’s range. Mokoena was a standout player for Bafana Bafana during the historic FIFA World Cup 2026™ campaign, delivering highly influential performances. His defining moment was scoring a crucial 83rd-minute penalty against Czechia in Atlanta, USA.
“For me, the stunning Hyundai SANTA FE represents confidence and consistency,” said Mokoena. “As an athlete who subscribes to excellence on and off the field, I prefer a vehicle that matches my lifestyle and mindset: modern, reliable and bold. The SANTA FE gives me comfort, performance and a premium feel every time I get behind the wheel.”
As Hyundai’s first hybrid vehicle in South Africa, the SANTA FE has quickly won over local drivers with its striking design, generous space, premium comfort and fuel-efficient performance. The SUV is ideal for both family life and everyday adventures and was recently named the 2026 Car of the Year Finalist for the South African Guild of Mobility Journalists SAGMJ Awards.
Tshiamo Tladi, Marketing Director of Hyundai Automotive South Africa said Mokoena perfectly embodies the values associated with the Hyundai brand. “Teboho has become a symbol of excellence in South African football.”
“His discipline, humility and ability to perform under pressure have made him one of the most respected football players, not just locally but globally. We are proud to welcome him to the Hyundai family and honoured that he chose the Hyundai SANTA FE as his preferred model,” said Tladi.
The collaboration forms part of Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s continued investment in local sport and talent development, while celebrating South Africans who continue to excel on the global stage.
