A 23-year-old woman suffered from a heat stroke while she was hiking down Lion’s Head Mountain in Cape Town earlier this afternoon.
When ER24 paramedics found her near the parking lot, she was unconscious and in a critical condition.
She was stabilised on scene and quickly transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
Temperatures in that area reached a high of approximately 30 degrees today.
People are advised not to take part in strenuous activity especially in hot weather.
If working outdoors while temperatures are high is necessary, one must ensure they are not alone.
