The suspects displayed suspicious behavior as the KZNVIP Patrol vehicle passed by and when approached the suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended.
They were found in possession of multiple copper and brass fitting and pieces of copper pipes which they were going to exchange in a nearby scrapyard in the Trenance manor area.
SAPS detained the suspects and will work on linking them to other thefts in the area as they admitted to multiple copper thefts
