On 05 November 2025, the Durban Metro Police Service Task Team A, working in collaboration with Crime Intelligence and SAPS KwaMashu, achieved two major recoveries of stolen motor vehicles linked to violent crimes.
Incident 1 – Westville Home Invasion
A white VW Polo Vivo was reported stolen during a home invasion in the Westville area.
Through swift coordination and intelligence-led policing, the vehicle was traced to KwaMashu, where it was recovered along Mzonjani Road and handed over to KwaMashu SAPS.
Incident 2 – Hijacked Vehicle Recovered
Shortly after concluding the first recovery, officers received information about a white Isuzu single cab hijacked in KwaMashu.
Members tactically approached the KwaMashu Hostel area, where the vehicle was found abandoned and recovered safely. It was also handed over to KwaMashu SAPS.
These recoveries demonstrate the commitment and professionalism of our officers in combating vehicle-related crimes and ensuring public safety across eThekwini.
