A business owner in Hannaford Drive, Phoenix, was assaulted during an attempted robbery this morning, 24 November 2025. KZNVIP Security and Medical Teams were dispatched to reports of a business robbery.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP Response officers made contact with the shop owner, who explained A male suspect entered the property and approached the business owner.
The suspect allegedly struck the shop owner with a blunt object before attempting to pull items from the shop, As the suspect tried to flee, members of the community intervened and successfully apprehended him.
KZNVIP Ambulance Services were dispatched to assess and treat the shop owner for injuries sustained during the incident. She was stabilised on scene and transported to a medical facility for further care.
SAPS Phoenix was notified and dispatched to take over the investigation and detain the suspect.
