At 00:01 on Wednesday, the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre dispatched Reaction Officers to a residence in Emona – KZN following reports of a house fire.
Upon arrival, Officers found one of the rooms engulfed in flames and spreading to other sections of the house. The Ethekwini Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and successfully extinguished the blaze.
According to the homeowner, the cause of the fire is unknown. He stated that he awoke after hearing a suspicious noise coming from the room and upon investigation, discovered the fire.
No injuries were reported.
