The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Kanyamazane is appealing to members of the public for assistance in reuniting Promise Thembelihle Mthombothi (14) with her family.
Thembelihle Mthombothi, who resides at Thekwane South near Kanyamazane, was last seen by her mother on 16 January 2026 at her place of residence. It is reported that she left home after an altercation with her mother. She left without informing any family members of her whereabouts.
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black dress and black sandals. Her family has conducted extensive searches at places she is known to frequent and attempted to contact her telephonically; however, these efforts have yielded no success, as her cell phone is currently not reachable.
The police urge anyone who may have information that could assist in locating Thembelihle Promise Mthombothi or reuniting her with her family to contact Sergeant Jabulane Mthethwa on 071 308 9740 or Kanyamazane SAPS on 013 794 6101. Information may also be shared via the #MySAPSApp, and callers may opt to remain anonymous. All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
