PVES responders, along with practitioner backup, were requested following the shooting of an on-duty security officer during an active break-in.
Upon arrival, multiple security services were already on scene and had secured the area. PVES members immediately initiated medical treatment of the injured security officer. ProMed EMS arrived shortly thereafter, and ALS backup was requested. Netcare 911 ALS subsequently arrived on scene to provide advanced life support.
The patient was stabilized on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
We wish the injured security officer a speedy and full recovery.
