Earlier this afternoon, PVES members responded to a medical emergency after a staff member collapsed at the workplace. On arrival, the patient was found to be semi-conscious and able to briefly communicate that he was unwell.
Immediate medical treatment was initiated by PVES practitioners, and further assessment indicated that the patient was experiencing a myocardial infarction (heart attack). A PVES Medical doctor arrived on scene to provide additional support.
Shortly thereafter, GPG ALS and a GPG ambulance arrived on scene. The patient, who was critical but stable, was transported to hospital for definitive cardiac care.
