Police members in the Namakwa District continue to clamp down on drug related offences. The results of these actions were evident in the operational successes achieved during Operation Shanela 2 across all stations within the district.
Members of the Springbok Public Order Policing (POP) unit, the Namakwa District Task Team, and Nababeep SAPS, conducted successful operations between 30 and 31 January 2026, resulting in the arrest of ten suspects for drug-related offences.
All ten suspects, aged between 23 and 63 years old, are expected to appear in court soon to face charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
The operations demonstrate the commitment of the South African Police Service in the Namakwa District, to combat drug-related crimes. #DrugsOffTheStreets
