Mi7 teams have been working on information regarding a recent spike in thefts out of residential properties in the Wembley and Clarendon areas, especially where expensive items like top-of-the-range bicycles are being targeted.
The teams have been receiving reports of incidents from community members, most of whom are not Armed Response clients, and law enforcement, with details and descriptions of items stolen.
On Sunday morning, at around 6am, vigilant Mi7 Reaction Officers were on routine patrols on Roberts Road when they spotted an individual riding one such bicycle, a KTM. The man began acting suspiciously as Mi7 Reaction Officers approached.
Upon further investigation, it was found that the bicycle was stolen from a resident on Dan Pienaar Road (Non-Client). The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
