*Incident Summary*
During the early hours of 16 April 2026, Proshield Tactical Units were conducting proactive crime prevention patrols in the Claremont area.
While patrolling Claremont Street, two individuals were observed moving a large metal object under suspicious circumstances. Proshield units stopped to investigate, at which point one suspect fled into a nearby property.
This behaviour raised immediate suspicion and warranted further investigation. The second individual was called out from the property and, upon questioning, admitted to the unauthorized removal of critical infrastructure.
A third suspect was subsequently identified, linked to the incident, and also confessed to involvement.
Hercules SAPS was immediately contacted and responded to the scene. All three suspects were handed over to SAPS for further processing.
