The distribution of drugs in our communities was dealt a blow when members attached to Operation Prosper arrested a 45-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs in Delft on Monday, 20 April 2026 at 16:00.
The members were busy with stop and search operations in Buczane Street, N2 Gateway, Delft. They stopped and searched a silver Honda Civic vehicle and the occupant and found ten mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime in the vehicle.
Further investigation led them to a storage facility in Stikland, Bellville. At the facility the members found 46 packs containing 1000 mandrax tablets each and a total of 46 000 units of mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R2 760 000-00.
The suspect was arrested and will appear in the Bellville Magistrates court once charged.
Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General (Adv.) Thembisile Patekile applauded the efforts of the members which led to the confiscation of the consignment.
