Shortly before 12:30 today, an alert was received via the Honeydew Emergency Group regarding a house fire in Randpark Ridge, Sering Street. Resources from multiple organizations, together with Honeydew CPF patrollers, were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the house was already fully engulfed in flames, with signs of the roof beginning to collapse. Emergency services fought tirelessly to contain the blaze, but sadly the fire had spread too far, and the home was completely destroyed.
Honeydew CPF patrollers assisted with road closures in the surrounding area to allow emergency crews unobstructed access. Randpark Drive was also temporarily closed as fire hoses had to be laid across the roadway after responding crews were unable to locate nearby water outlets.
We would like to urge residents to identify the nearest fire hydrant to their homes, ensure it is clearly marked, and kept free from debris or obstruction. For those living within residents’ associations, consider raising this as a community safety project to help improve emergency preparedness in your area.
We wish the family well during this difficult time and the loss of their home.
