A man suffered severe head injuries after a failed attempt to jump over a gate at his residence in Belvedere – KZN this morning (Saturday, 02/05/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched at approximately 06:29 after the Tongaat Operations Centre received reports of an injured male lying outside a property in Zone 5.
Reaction Officers arrived on scene and interviewed a member of public who discovered the injured individual.
According to the caller, the male was found lying on his back near the driveway gate with visible head injuries. It is believed that he attempted to jump the gate as he was not in possession of the keys and fell, sustaining trauma to his head. The male was unresponsive on arrival and actively bleeding from the head.
He was stabilised on scene by Paramedics from the provincial ambulance service before being expedited to a medical facility.
