On Friday afternoon, a man was killed in a suspected targeted shooting at the crossroads of Willowfield and Ashfield Road in Durban’s Springfield Park district.Several emergency agencies and security officials responded to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, responders discovered an adult male inside a vehicle with several gunshot wounds.
It is thought that the victim was in his vehicle when unknown suspects opened fire before fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, the victim died as a result of his injuries. He was declared dead on the scene.
The specifics surrounding the occurrence cannot be confirmed at this time, and the motivation for the shooting is unknown.
Members of the South African Police Service have taken over the location and will undertake additional investigations.
