The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Cable Theft Unit nabbed two suspects for possession of and dealing in, suspected stolen copper cables in Pretoria West on Monday, 13 July 2026.
While conducting routine patrols in the area, officers inspected Dhatoo Scrap Metals. During the inspection, they found a South African and a Cameroonian national, both in their mid-40s in possession of multiple bags of copper cables.
When questioned, the suspects were unable to account for the cables. They were immediately arrested and detained at a nearby police station. TMPD commends the members for consistently going above and beyond in the execution of their duties.
