Swift police action led to the arrest of a 27-year-old woman for the unlawful possession of three unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Bongolethu Location, outside Cacadu, on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.
Acting on information received, members attached to the Komani Flying Squad and Crime Intelligence proceeded to the identified premises, where they conducted a search. During the operation, they recovered three unlicensed firearms, comprising two 9mm pistols and one revolver, as well as 18 rounds of live ammunition.
The suspect was immediately arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
The recovered firearms and ammunition will undergo ballistic testing to determine whether they were used in the commission of other crimes.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Cacadu Magistrate’s Court soon.
