A 28-year-old man was arrested by Reaction Officers while fleeing the scene of a robbery in Tongaat – KZN.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received multiple calls from residents of Plein Street requesting assistance after a male was seen fleeing over several boundary walls.
Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival, conducted a search of a property where the male was last seen entering.
He was located attempting to conceal himself in an outdoor toilet. The man was immediately restrained by RUSA Members.
While attending to the scene Reaction Officers were informed that the suspect and an accomplice had just committed a robbery in the Tongaat CBD – KZN. The two males fled in different directions while being pursued by the public.
The suspect was handed over to the Tongaat SAPS for further investigation.
