Members of the multi-disciplinary, intelligence-driven Operation Vala Umgodi, deployed in the Frances Baard District, arrested two suspects aged 23 and 31 for drug dealing on Saturday, 19 July 2025.
While conducting disruptive operations at illegal mining hotspots in the Kimberley area, police received information regarding suspected drug dealing at a residence in Kagisho, Kimberley.
The information was swiftly operationalised, and the targeted premises were approached and searched.
During the search, police confiscated a significant quantity of dagga, Mandrax tablets, and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be proceeds of criminal activity.
The suspects were arrested and charged with dealing in drugs and are expected to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court soon.
Operation Vala Umgodi remains steadfast in its mission to combat illegal mining and eradicate all forms of criminality in the Northern Cape.
