A man was robbed at gunpoint and his vehicle hijacked during a brazen attack on Newcenter Drive, by the Grounds in Newlands West, this morning, 15 September 2025.
Just after 10h20 AM, KZNVIP Control Centre received a panic alarm activation and confirmation of an armed hijacking. Immediately all Response Officers, Tactical Units and KZNVIP Medical and Rescue teams were dispatched.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP officers made contact with the complainant who explained that while checking on his trucks parked along Newcenter Drive, he was approached by three armed suspects in a grey Hyundai. The suspects held him up at gunpoint, robbed him of an undisclosed amount of valuables and then fled in his white Toyota Corolla. Shots were fired as the suspects fled the scene.
SAPS have been notified and investigations are underway.
Tracking Agents together with KZNVIP And Saps managed to trace the vehicle to an informal settlement off Briardale.
