Boat fire at Island Lake
A boat caught fire earlier this afternoon, Monday 5 January, at Island Lake in Wilderness, making for a very unfortunate start to the year.
It is unclear at this stage whether any injuries were sustained. However, no other structures were damaged, apart from the boat and a part of the jetty.
The George Fire Department responded swiftly and managed to douse the flames before the situation could escalate further.
