The members of Operation Lockdown III conducted a search at a spaza shop in Tsimani Street, Samora Machel on Saturday 21 February 2026, after receiving intelligence about firearms concealed at the address. They found two foreign nationals at the premises, and while carrying out the search, members recovered one 9mm pistol with eight rounds of ammunition and one CZ 75 beretta handgun with 10 rounds of ammunition. Both firearms had no serial numbers.
The male suspects aged 33 and 37 were arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and will make their first court appearance on Monday 23 February 2026.
