A suspected burglar was found burnt to death after a fire broke out at a cosmetics shop in Zwelisha – KZN this morning (Friday, 24/04/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out for assistance. On arrival, the rear of the premises was engulfed in flames, with plastic and clothing stock accelerating the spread of the fire.
The owner confirmed the shop was locked at approximately 20:20 and no one was inside at the time.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered one (1) deceased male inside the building, believed to have gained entry unlawfully.
All access points were found secured. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
