A tow truck driver has been left in a critical condition following a shooting incident in the Clarecroft area of Phoenix on Monday night.
KZN VIP’s Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, emergency personnel were informed by community members that the victim had already been transported privately to a medical facility due to the severity of his injuries.
According to information received on scene, the victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported for urgent medical treatment prior to the arrival of emergency services. The patient has since been stabilised by medical personnel but remains in a critical condition.
The exact circumstances leading up to the incident cannot be confirmed at this time and remain the subject of a police investigation.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) were notified and responded to the scene. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
