Police in Lephalale have launched an investigation following the disappearance of a 37-year-old woman, Phindile Ntombifuthi Phalatse, and her two children, Lebone Abongwe (12) and Lethabo Zemvelo Phalatse (7), under circumstances that remain unclear.
According to information received, the woman and her two sons, aged 12 and 7, were last in contact with family members in January 2026. Concerns were raised after relatives were reportedly unable to reach her, and communication with the family ceased.
On 13 June 2026, a relative visited the family’s residence in Onverwacht, Lephalale, and discovered that there had been no contact with the mother and children for several months. Neighbours informed the family that they had last seen the trio around March 2026.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one family vehicle was still parked at the residence, while a Ford Kuga motor vehicle is believed to be missing from the property. It was further established that the woman had reportedly resigned from her employment in June 2024 and that the children had not attended school since November 2025.
Police have opened enquiry dockets, and investigations are underway to establish the whereabouts of the #missing persons and the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
