A bakkie that was stolen outside the Verulam Driver Testing Station in Lotusville – KZN yesterday (Wednesday) was recovered in Amaoti – KZN today (Thursday) after information was received.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received the tip-off at approximately 11:25 that the sought after white Mazda Drifter double cab had been spotted on an unnamed road in Amaoti – KZN. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to investigate.
On arrival, Officers located the stolen vehicle. The bakkie had been stripped of several parts, including three (3) wheels, the battery, interior components and various exterior parts.
Information received indicated that the suspects fled the scene in Amaoti – KZN moments before the arrival of Reaction Officers, leaving behind one (1) tyre.
A search of the surrounding area was conducted, however no arrests were made
