Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N3 near the Linksfield turn-off this morning in Edenvale.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that four vehicles were involved in the accident and two people were seriously injured.
Both injured people were treated on scene before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
