A 15 year old girl was knocked unconscious after she was assaulted with the butt of a firearm during a robbery at her home in Southridge Circle in Southridge – KZN last night (Wednesday).
Five suspects entered the property situated in a cul de sac at approximately 19:35. One of the gunmen pointed his firearm through the security gate and instructed the homeowner to open up for them.
The robbers entered the house and instructed the off duty Metro Policeman to lay on the ground. His teenage daughter grabbed a chair in an attempt to assault one of the suspects when she was pistol whipped and knocked unconscious. An elderly female and the Metro Policeman’s wife were also assaulted while the robbers ransacked the home in search of jewellery. They fled in a white unknown vehicle that was parked on the driveway.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) conducted an extensive search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
