PVES practitioners and responders, with a PVES doctor responding to the scene, were dispatched to assist a patient who had reportedly sustained a gunshot wound during an attempted hijacking.
On arrival, members found one patient with a serious gunshot wound to the abdomen, resulting in severe traumatic injuries.
PVES members immediately initiated advanced patient care, stabilizing the patient and providing critical treatment on scene. Once the patient had been stabilized, they were transported by
Gauteng Provincial Government EMS (GPG) to an appropriate medical facility for further emergency treatment and specialist care.
We would like to commend GPG for their swift response and professionalism in ensuring the patient received rapid transport to definitive care.
