Officers acted on information regarding a green Toyota Legend 55 that had been hijacked in Hartbeespoortdam on Friday, 30 January 2026. The Tactical Unit tracked the information to a residential address in Mamelodi East, Extension 5.
Upon arrival, members discovered the vehicle parked inside a property in Mamelodi. A suspect was caught in the act of tampering with the vehicle, attempting to disable tracking devices and alter its identification.
The suspect was arrested for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and detained at the local police station. The TMPD Chief of Police Commissioner YCR Faro commends the swift action of the
