The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Cable Theft Unit arrested a male suspect in Hercules on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 for the possession of suspected stolen copper cables.
The arrest followed a tip off from members of the community regarding a local scrapyard allegedly involved in suspected stolen cable theft activities.
When Cable Theft Unit members arrived at the scrapyard, they found a white male suspect in possession of a bag containing copper cables for which he could not account for.
The suspect was arrested and detained at local police station pending court appearance faces charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
