Today at 11:40, a resident alerted the Titanium Securitas Armed Response Team to a male suspect allegedly robbing people at gunpoint near the pedestrian footbridge in Hout Street, Kraaifontein.
Our Armed Response Officers immediately responded to the location. Upon noticing the Titanium Securitas vehicles, the suspect fled on foot. Officers pursued him and successfully cornered him in Dorp Street, where an imitation firearm was found in his possession.
Kraaifontein SAPS was contacted and, upon arrival, took the suspect into custody for further investigation relating to the possession of an imitation firearm and attempted robbery.
The victims subsequently opened an attempted robbery case against the arrested suspect.
