One person was killed and four others injured in a single vehicle collision that occurred in the early hours of this morning in Jakes Grewel Drive in Hanover Park. Allegedly, the driver lost control of the vehicle after an altercation with one of the passengers. The vehicle rolled several times and came to a halt when it went through fence on the side of the road.
ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and found that one person had already succumb to his fatal injuries. Over and above the deceased patient, there were four other injured patients. One person with critical injuries and another three patients with moderate injuries. ER24 treated and transported two patients to Heideveld District Hospital and Grootte Schuur Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other services on scene.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
