Information of a shooting in progress on Foresthaven drive in Phoenix was relayed via control to all available members of Empire Protection Service, Members of Empire Protection Service were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene to meet with members of the Phoenix SAPS, Including TRIO crime members and other Private Security Companies.
On Foresthaven drive, two vehicles matching the same description as per control were located near the intersection of Diphaven drive. An orange Renault triber was found to have a bullet hole to the rear left whilst the second vehicle, a silver VW polo, was located a few meters down the road.
It is alleged that the occupants of both vehicles are known to each other following a dispute over an unpaid loan of R13 000-00 the driver of the VW polo after an altercation opened fire on the Renault triber which intern forced the driver who possessed a licensed firearm to return fire.
– 2 firearms were recovered and were taken into evidence by members of SAPS LCRC.
– 16 9mm bullet cases were found along the roadway.
– 2 suspects were arrested by phoenix saps for the discharging of firearms, whilst two more suspects were arrested as accomplices to the crime.
CAS of attempted murder as well as discharging a firearm in a built-up area and a state CAS in conjunction with others are to be registered.
