KZN VIP Security, in close collaboration with various law enforcement agencies, successfully executed a focused crime prevention and cleanup operation across Verulam and its surrounding areas.
As part of the initiative, random stop-and-search operations were carried out at several schools in the Verulam area. These efforts aimed to reinforce discipline within the learning environment.
Multiple prohibited items were confiscated. Learners also alerted officers to an illegal scrapyard situated next to one of the schools, where drug users were reportedly seen loitering and intimidating students creating an unsafe atmosphere.
Following up on this information, law enforcement extended the operation to nearby scrapyards. During the search, copper piping suspected to be stolen was discovered. Arrests were made in connection with the recovered materials, as well as for the operation of an illegal and unlicensed scrapyard.
