Members attached to Tactical Response Team tactically approached the homestead with the aim to arrest the suspects. When they were nearer to the house, they were welcomed by hail of bullets from the targeted homestead. The members retaliated to the attack and fatally wounded one of the suspects while others escaped the scene. While the scene was being processed, the other suspects who escaped retaliated by firing in the nearby bushes to scare away the police. On investigation, Police recovered a 9mm pistol (NP 20 parabellum) and live ammunition.
A case of attempted murder and Inquest was opened for investigation. The case was transferred to Independent Police Investigative Unit (IPID) for further investigation.
