Members of Atlantis SAPS in the Western Cape received information about a firearm at a premises in Yew Street, Pella, Atlantis, on Monday, 01 December 2025. Members operationalised the information and searched the identified premises where they found a shotgun hidden in a cupboard in the bedroom. An adult male was arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm as he failed to give an account for the firearm.
The suspect will appear before the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court once he has been charged.
In an unrelated matter, members of Operation Shanela II, searched a premises in Alison Court, Heideveld, on Tuesday afternoon, 02 December 2025 and arrested a 53-year-old male when they found 46 mandrax tablets and seven half mandrax tablets in the house. He faces a charge for the possession of mandrax.
The members searched another premises in Allison Court and confiscated 26 packets containing crystal meth. A 49-year-old female was arrested for the possession of crystal meth.
The suspects will appear before the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 03 December 2025.
