A theft suspect was successfully apprehended by members of KZN VIP following a swift response to reports from vigilant community members on Lenham Drive in Phoenix.
It is alleged that the suspect was observed removing spotlights from outside a resident’s premises when alert community members raised the alarm. KZN VIP reaction officers were immediately dispatched to the scene and successfully located and apprehended the suspect.
Upon further investigation, the stolen spotlights were recovered and found in the suspect’s possession. SAPS was summoned to the scene, and the suspect was subsequently handed over for further investigation and processing.
KZN VIP would like to commend the alert community members whose vigilance and quick reporting played a crucial role in the successful apprehension. We also remind residents that community involvement remains one of the most effective tools in combating crime.
