Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to a side-impact accident on Riebeeck Street in Hekpoort last night after 20h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle and heavy goods vehicle were involved in the collision and a female driver of the motor vehicle was found to be in a serious condition.
The woman was treated on scene before she was transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
