Western Cape: On Wednesday (2017-02-01), at approximately 06:20, Muizenberg SAPS reacted to a complaint of a housebreaking in progress at Zerilda Park Primary School in Seawinds.
Upon arrival at the scene, police arrested an 18-year-old suspect, who was later found to be a former student of the school and resident of Lavender Hill, for possession of suspected stolen property after the suspect was found with stationery and photocopy paper.
On further investigation, members determined that another suspect could possibly be hiding in the ceiling of one of the classrooms. A member of the SAPS dog unit provided assistance and with the help of a police dog, a 26-year-old suspect was found hiding in the ceiling, who was also subsequently arrested.
Both suspects have been detained at Muizenberg SAPS on charges of housebreaking and theft and are due in court once they have been charged.
